Pineapple Pear Tree
A hard pear, that bears heavy crops of large, pineapple-like flavored fruit good for cooking, canning, or fresh eating. Cold hardy to USDA plant zones 5-9. New trees can produce fruit in 2-3 years depending on care and climate. The success of new trees is heavily dependent on the care received during and after planting. Trees are medium in size, very prolific, and blight resistant. Pineapple is an ideal variety for the south. Chilling requirement is 150 hours. Suggested Pollinators: Self Fertile.
