A woodland perennial with graceful, arching stems, each bearing attractive leaves with white margins and splashes of green. In late spring, it produces delicate, fragrant, bell-shaped white flowers that hang in pairs from the undersides of the stems. The plant grows to about 8 to 24 inches tall, thrives in part to full shade with moist, well-drained soil, and turns a lovely yellow in the fall. It spreads slowly via underground rhizomes, making it a good choice for shade gardens but not for naturalizing quickly.
