The illustration is part of a "Collectors Series".
The aircraft depicted is the L-049 model, the first of the Constellation line.
It was designed for Trans World Airlines (TWA) but first saw service as a military transport during World War II before becoming a prominent post-war civilian airliner.
The aircraft was powered by four 18-cylinder radial Wright R-3350 engines.
