This is a postcard featuring the Liberty Tree and Woodward Hall at St. John's College in Annapolis, Maryland.
The postcard shows the famous Liberty Tree, a large tulip poplar where colonists gathered to plan their rebellion against the British in the 1700s.
The original tree was considered the last surviving original Liberty Tree in the United States until it was destroyed by Hurricane Floyd in 1999.
Woodward Hall is one of the historic buildings on the campus of St. John's College.
Direct descendants of the original tree have been planted throughout Maryland to continue its legacy.
