________
The image is a vintage postcard view of Boston Light, the oldest lighthouse station in the United States, located on Little Brewster Island at the entrance to Boston Harbor, Massachusetts.
The original lighthouse was first illuminated on September 16, 1716, making it the first lighthouse station in the country.
The current 75-foot tall stone structure was built in 1783 after the original was destroyed during the Revolutionary War.
It is the only remaining U.S. Coast Guard beacon with a resident keeper and the only lighthouse in the country to still be actively staffed.
The site is a National Historic Landmark and a key part of the Boston Harbor Islands National Recreation Area.
