This image is a postcard featuring the "Island in the Sky" observation tower at Cypress Gardens in Winter Haven, Florida. The attraction, which opened in 1983, was a 153-foot-high revolving observation platform that offered a panoramic view of the park and surrounding area.
The ride was the first "Flying Island" created by Intamin, a Swiss amusement ride manufacturer.
It was sponsored by the Eastman Kodak Company, as the views were ideal for photography.
Cypress Gardens was Florida's first theme park, opening in 1936.
The park's grounds are now part of the LEGOLAND Florida Resort, and the "Island in the Sky" attraction remains operational there.
