This is a vintage postcard featuring an interior view of the State Dining Room at the White House in Washington, D.C.
The State Dining Room is the larger of two dining rooms on the State Floor of the Executive Residence and is used for formal dinners and state functions.
The room was expanded in 1902 during Theodore Roosevelt's presidency and rebuilt during the Harry S. Truman renovation.
The mantel shown in the image is a reproduction of the original from the 1902 renovation, part of a restoration led by First Lady Jacqueline Kennedy in 1962.
The room can seat up to 140 people for official state dinners.
