The image shows the Indian House Memorial in Deerfield, Massachusetts. This structure is a reproduction of the original "Old Indian House" built by Ensign John Sheldon in 1699.
The original house was famous for surviving the 1704 French and Native American raid on the village.
Despite its historical significance, the original house was demolished in 1848.
The loss of the original house spurred the construction of this replica decades later.
Fragments of the original house are preserved in the nearby Memorial Hall Museum.
