____________
This postcard image depicts the Inman & Kimball Straw Hat Factory in Foxboro, Massachusetts, which operated in the late 19th and early 20th centuries.
The building was originally erected in 1886 and became the Inman & Kimball factory in 1894.
The factory was a significant part of the local straw hat industry, which provided many jobs, particularly for women, during the decline of the agricultural economy.
The building was located on the corner of Bird Street and Railroad Avenue, adjacent to the railroad tracks visible in the foreground.
The factory building was eventually destroyed by a large fire in 1936.
