The image is a vintage postcard of Historic Kenmore, a Georgian-style brick mansion in Fredericksburg, Virginia. It was built for George Washington's sister, Betty Washington Lewis, and her husband, Fielding Lewis.
Construction of the house was completed in 1775.
It is considered one of the finest examples of American Colonial architecture.
The house is the only surviving structure from the original 1,300-acre Kenmore plantation.
The property was slated for destruction in 1921, but was saved and preserved by the Kenmore Association (now The George Washington Foundation).
