The image is a vintage postcard of Stratford Hall.
Stratford Hall is a historic 1,500-acre plantation located in Westmoreland County, Virginia, on the Potomac River.
It was the home of four generations of the Lee family, including two signers of the Declaration of Independence, Richard Henry Lee and Francis Lightfoot Lee.
The mansion, built in the Georgian style, was the birthplace of Confederate General Robert E. Lee.
Construction on the great house likely began around 1738 and was completed in the 1740s.
