This vintage postcard depicts the replica of the original fort and stockade at Mormon Station State Historic Park in Genoa, Nevada.
Genoa is recognized as Nevada's first settlement, founded in 1851 by John Reese and pioneers from the Utah Territory as a trading post called Mormon Station.
The original structure was a simple lean-to that was soon upgraded to a log cabin with a corral.
The fort and stockade replica houses a museum featuring pioneer artifacts.
The original Reese's Station Stockade reportedly cost $2,000 when built in 1850.
