________

The image is a vintage postcard featuring the Kaibab Suspension Bridge, also known as the "Black Bridge", spanning the Colorado River in the Grand Canyon.
The bridge is a vital part of the corridor connecting the North and South Kaibab Trails, making rim-to-rim travel across the Grand Canyon possible.
Completed in 1928, the 440-foot-long bridge was specifically designed to be five feet wide to accommodate both hikers and mule teams, while preventing the mules from turning around.
It is suspended about 60 feet above the river, offering dramatic views of the canyon and river below.
All materials for its construction were transported down the canyon either by hand or on the backs of mules.
