The image is a postcard illustration of the George C. Marshall Research Library located on the campus of the Virginia Military Institute (VMI) in Lexington, Virginia.
The library was built in 1964 and honors the legacy of George C. Marshall, the only person to hold the offices of Army Chief of Staff during World War II, Secretary of State, and Secretary of Defense.
It houses extensive collections of his papers, as well as documents relating to 20th-century diplomatic, military, and political history.
The collections include over 50,000 photographs, 3,000 maps, and various other primary sources for research.
The building is open to the public for research and visits.
