The image is a vintage postcard of the ceremonial entrance to Warner Parks in Nashville, Tennessee. The entrance features a large, stone gateway and is part of the historic landscape designed by George Kessler, with structures built by the Works Progress Administration (WPA) in the 1930s and 40s.
Warner Parks consists of two parks, Percy Warner Park and Edwin Warner Park, which collectively form the largest municipal park area in Tennessee, covering over 2,600 acres.
Percy Warner Park opened to the public in 1927, followed by Edwin Warner Park in 1937.
The iconic stone structures, including the entrance shown in the image and the Allée Steps, were constructed during the New Deal era by the WPA.
The parks are a significant natural area and offer numerous amenities such as hiking trails, a nature center, and an organic garden.
