__________
This image is a postcard from around the early 1900s, showing Osborn Hall at Yale University in New Haven, Connecticut. The building was a prominent architectural landmark designed by Bruce Price in the Richardsonian Romanesque style.
Built in 1889, it served as a recitation hall to help ease overcrowding on campus.
Despite its distinctive architecture, the building was unpopular due to its location at a busy intersection and was eventually demolished in 1926, only 36 years after its completion.
The site is now occupied by Bingham Hall, a larger dormitory that is part of Yale's Old Campus expansion.
The postcard features handwritten text at the bottom, which reads "aletta & I are here today. Edna."
