This vintage postcard captures the Newfound Gap Parking Area in the Great Smoky Mountains National Park, likely from the 1950s or 1960s.
The Newfound Gap is a mountain pass with an elevation of 5,045 feet (1,538 m).
It is the lowest drivable pass through the park and where Newfound Gap Road (US 441) crosses the main chain of the mountains, connecting Tennessee and North Carolina.
The area provides ample parking and is a popular scenic stop for visitors.
The image shows numerous classic cars and tourists enjoying the mountain views.
