The image is a vintage postcard featuring the Marble House mansion in Newport, Rhode Island. It was built between 1888 and 1892 as a summer home for Alva and William Kissam Vanderbilt.

The mansion, also known as the "Marble Palace," was a 39th birthday present from William Vanderbilt to his wife, Alva.
It was designed by architect Richard Morris Hunt in the Beaux-Arts style.
At the time of its completion in 1892, it was considered unparalleled in opulence for an American house.
The house later became the residence of Mrs. O.H.P. Belmont, as noted in the text on the postcard.
It is now a museum open to the public, acquired by the Preservation Society of Newport County in 1963.
