This vintage stereoview card titled "1827. Picking the Famous Uji Tea, Near Tokyo, Japan" was published by Griffith & Griffith, Philadelphia, Pa. The card features a sepia-toned stereograph image of tea pickers in a tea field near Tokyo, Japan. The scene shows several women, some wearing traditional head coverings, harvesting tea leaves with baskets, highlighting a historical agricultural practice. The card is copyrighted 1901 by Geo. W. Griffith.

The stereoview card is mounted on cardboard typical of early 20th-century stereographs, with text printed on each side of the image. The left side of the mount reads "Sold only by Griffith & Griffith Philadelphia, Chicago, London, Hamburg, German, Italy," indicating the international reach of the publisher. This stereograph is an excellent example of early 1900s ethnographic and geographic photography, ideal for collectors of vintage stereoviews, stereographs, or Japanese cultural imagery.
