This vintage stereoview card titled "1827. Picking the Famous Uji Tea, Near Tokyo, Japan" was published by Griffith & Griffith, Philadelphia, Pa. The card features a sepia-toned stereograph image of tea pickers in a tea field near Tokyo, Japan. The scene shows several women, some wearing traditional head coverings, harvesting tea leaves with baskets, highlighting a historical agricultural practice. The card is copyrighted 1901 by Geo. W. Griffith.
The stereoview card is mounted on cardboard typical of early 20th-century stereographs, with text printed on each side of the image.
