The image is a vintage postcard featuring the famous Wawona Tree, a giant sequoia in Yosemite National Park, California, with a tunnel cut through its base.
The tunnel was cut in 1881 to attract tourists.
Visitors could drive their cars through the opening, as shown in the image.
The tree fell during a severe winter in February 1969, at which point it was estimated to be over 2,000 years old.
It is now known as the "Fallen Tunnel Tree".
