_________

The image is a vintage postcard of the Royal Poinciana Hotel in Palm Beach, Florida, a historic Gilded Age hotel.
The hotel was developed by Standard Oil founder Henry Flagler and opened on February 11, 1894, as his first structure in South Florida.
It was the world's largest wooden structure at the time and played a significant role in transforming the area into a winter tourist destination.
The hotel was designed in the Georgian style by architects Carrère and Hastings.
The gardens and part of the hotel were damaged by the 1928 Okeechobee hurricane and the hotel was eventually demolished in 1935.
