The original school building on Park Avenue was first occupied by students in 1911 and was named Lynchburg Public High School until 1920.
It was later named after Edward Christian Glass, who served as the city's public school system superintendent from 1879 to 1931.
The building shown in the postcard was opened in 1953, replacing the original structure.
