________
The image is a vintage postcard featuring the Pilgrim Memorial Monument in Provincetown, Massachusetts.
The monument is a 252-foot tall granite tower, the tallest all-granite structure in the United States.
It commemorates the first landing of the Pilgrims in the New World in 1620 and the signing of the Mayflower Compact in Provincetown Harbor.
Construction of the monument took three years, from 1907 to 1910.
The tower's design is based on the 14th-century Torre del Mangia in Siena, Italy.
