This image is a postcard of the historic former United States Post Office building in Salem, Oregon.
The building was constructed in 1936-1937 with Treasury Department funds.
It is a combination of Stripped Classicism and Art Deco architectural styles.
The building served as Salem's post office until 1976.
It was noted as the only marble post office building west of the Mississippi River (aside from California) at the time of its dedication.
