This image is a vintage postcard featuring the second Oregon State Capitol building in Salem, Oregon. This structure, which featured a central dome, was completed in stages until 1893.
The building shown here was opened for use in 1876.
It was destroyed by fire in 1935.
The current Oregon State Capitol, an Art Deco style building, was dedicated in 1938 and is a National Historic Landmark.
The postcard view looks westward down Court Street.
