Officially named Mission Nuestra Señora de la Purísima Concepción de Acuña, it was founded in 1731.
The stone church, dedicated in 1755, is considered the oldest unrestored stone church in the United States.
It is a U.S. National Historic Landmark and a UNESCO World Heritage Site.
The mission still functions as a church today and is part of the San Antonio Missions National Historical Park.
