History: Construction began in the 1860s but was halted by the Civil War; during that time, Union troops used the unfinished building as a headquarters after the Battle of Selma in 1865.
Social Hub: For nearly a century, it served as Selma's social center, even featuring unique amenities like a skating rink on the second floor.
Demolition: After 100 years of operation, the hotel was dismantled and demolished between 1968 and 1969.
