The image is a vintage postcard of the E. H. Barney Estate, also known as Pecousic Villa, in Springfield, Massachusetts, which later became part of Forest Park.
The estate was owned by Everett H. Barney, an ice skate manufacturer who donated his 178-acre property to the city in the 1890s to form part of the new public Forest Park.
Barney was an avid horticulturalist who imported many rare plants from around the world for his grounds.
The elaborate mansion shown in the postcard was later demolished to make way for the I-91 highway.
The Carriage House and an iconic stone warming house are two of the few structures that remain standing on the estate grounds today.
