This is a vintage postcard featuring the Basilica of St. Louis, King of France, commonly known as the Old Cathedral, in St. Louis, Missouri.
It is the oldest cathedral west of the Mississippi River.
The present church building, the fourth structure on the site, was constructed from Missouri Limestone between 1831 and 1834.
The land for a church was originally designated in 1764 when St. Louis was founded.
The postcard itself is likely a linen postcard, a type popular between approximately 1930 and 1945.
