The image is a postcard featuring an aerial view of the Million Dollar Recreation Pier in St. Petersburg, Florida.
The pier, opened in 1926, was designed in the Mediterranean Revival style and included a two-lane roadway, a streetcar line, a solarium, and an observation deck.
It was a major attraction and a popular gathering space for the city.
The name "Million Dollar Pier" came from the \$1 million bond appropriated by the city for its construction after a 1921 hurricane damaged the previous pier.
The structure was demolished in 1967 due to deterioration and replaced by the inverted pyramid pier in the 1970s.
