The image is a vintage postcard showing the interior of the Halifax Citadel National Historic Site (also known as Fort George) in Halifax, Nova Scotia, Canada.

The fort is located on Citadel Hill, a strategic location that has been fortified since the city's founding in 1749.
The current stone fort was constructed between 1839 and 1852.
It was occupied by British forces until 1906 and later served as headquarters for anti-aircraft defenses during World War II.
Today, the site is operated by Parks Canada and recreates fort life as it was in 1867.
