This image is a vintage postcard of the historic Bottle House in Tonopah, Nevada.
The house was built in 1902 by William F. Peck using approximately 10,000 discarded beer bottles.
It was constructed in a mining town where lumber was scarce, but saloons provided plenty of building material.
The original house was located on Ellis Street in Tonopah and was a single-story, 16x20 feet dwelling with five rooms.
The structure was later owned by the Business and Professional Women's Club and used as a museum.
Sadly, the original Tonopah Bottle House was torn down in the early 1980s.
