The image is a vintage postcard of the Cloister Court at Cleeve Abbey, a former Cistercian monastery near Washford, Somerset, England. The text at the bottom of the image identifies the location as "Cleeve Abbey, Cloister Court".
Cleeve Abbey was founded in the late twelfth century and is considered one of the best-preserved medieval Cistercian monastic sites in Britain.
The abbey church was destroyed during the Dissolution of the Monasteries by Henry VIII in 1536, but the cloister buildings, including the gatehouse and refectory, survived remarkably intact.
The site is now under the care of English Heritage and is open to the public.
The abbey is renowned for its 15th-century refectory with a notable "angel roof" and well-preserved medieval tiles.
