__________

This image is of the reconstructed Capitol building in Williamsburg, Virginia, which served as the seat of Virginia's colonial government from 1705 to 1780.
The original building housed the House of Burgesses and the governor's Council.
After the third statehouse in Jamestown burned down, the capital was moved to Williamsburg. The current building is a reconstruction of the first Capitol building, which stood from 1705 to 1747.

The land was acquired by Colonial Williamsburg in 1928, and the reconstructed building officially opened as an exhibition in 1934.
