_______
The image shows the Nelson House in Yorktown, Virginia.
Built around 1730, the house was the home of Thomas Nelson, Jr., a signer of the Declaration of Independence, a general during the Revolutionary War, and a former Governor of Virginia.
The house is a significant historical landmark, having survived damage during both the American Revolution and the Civil War.
It was designated a National Historic Landmark and added to the National Register of Historic Places in 1966.
The bricks were fired from local clay sources, and the house is an example of fine Colonial architecture.
